These Russian Sisters Got A Standing Ovation From The 'So You Think You Can Dance' Judges For Their Unique Routine

"That’s the best modern dance audition I have ever seen on this show."

The So You Think You Can Dance judges saw some amazing talent during Monday night's season 14 premiere. They were especially impressed by Anastasiia and Viktoriia, sisters who traveled from Russia specifically to audition for the show.

Dressed in matching black jackets (which subsequently served as props), the women began a strange contemporary routine that initially seemed to earn chuckles from Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe. As they went on, however, the judges were transfixed by the sisters' unique and highly emotional performance, which built to a crescendo along with the music.

The audition earned a standing ovation from all three judges, as well as much of the audience. The sisters responded with a synchronized curtsy that was just as stylized as their routine.

"That was one of the most unique auditions I have ever seen. It made me cry, and I'm not even sure why," Murphy told them. "That's the best modern dance audition I have ever seen on this show."

Vanessa Hudgens concurred with Murphy that the performance brought her to tears.

"It was so emotional and breathtakingly beautiful," she said. "The story you told and the connection you have is just insane. I would pay so much money to see you guys do a show together."
