Blind auditions for season 15 of The Voice continued on Monday, and one performance in particular stood out for a number of reasons. According to Yahoo, OneUp (aka Adam and Jerome) is the first duo to compete on the show since season 11, as well as the first gay couple.

The pair performed the 1972 classic "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" by The Spinners, showing off a little synchronized choreography and some powerhouse vocals. It was enough to turn three coaches' chairs — Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton — at nearly the last second.

According to their show bio, Adam and Jerome first met when they were cast together as love interests in a music video, and have been working on their act for the past six months. "We met and then we fell in love, actually," Adam told the coaches, inspiring applause from the crowd.

Yahoo reports that this was not only the couple's first time performing together in public, but it was also the first time their families had met. Clarkson encouraged the families to join them on stage, before sharing a few emotional words. "In a time in this country when it is so divisive," she said through tears, "this is such a beautiful thing. It is proof that in this country, love is limitless."

She called it "the most beautiful thing that's happened to me this season." After a speech like that, it's easy to see why OneUp chose to join Team Kelly. Could they be the first duo to ever win The Voice?
