With "Lock That Door," the group — which hails from New Jersey and consists of 20-year-old Holden Glazer (lead singer-bassist), 18-year-old Jake Farbman (guitarist), 20-year-old Evan Hemwall (guitarist), and 21-year-old Drew Stevens (drummer) — is exploring what seems to be the breakdown of a relationship, as evidenced by the woman starring in the video, but in a unique way.

"I don't know how you didn't see / That you lost your way and broke the key," sings Glazer, whose first name is inspired by the main character in Catcher in the Rye, the classic J.D. Salinger novel that also inspired the band's name. He then reminds the song's subject that they said they'd never lock the door, something that can be taken both literal or metaphorical depending on how you see it given the abstract story of the music video, which was directed by Josh Sikkema.

The band, which was formed in 2014 and previously made waves with their single "Do It All Again," will release their new EP titled Distance in June 2018. This song, which will be a part of that EP, is equal parts pop and rock, which makes sense given the group's inspiration from Fall Out Boy, Coldplay, and Imagine Dragons.
