Miley Cyrus And Adam Sandler Perform A Moving Tribute To Las Vegas

"We're here to entertain you tonight, and that's what we're gonna do."

This week marks "Miley Week" on The Tonight Show, which will promote the singer's new album Younger Now. Miley Cyrus is scheduled to perform on the show every day, and on Monday night, she chose to open with a moving tribute to the victims of Sunday night's tragic shooting in Las Vegas

As host Jimmy Fallon said to introduce the performance, "We're here to entertain you tonight, and that's what we're gonna do."

Accompanied by fellow guest Adam Sandler, who sang along and played guitar, Cyrus performed Dido's 2013 song "No Freedom." On Twitter, the singer called the lyrics "so important at this time." As she sang on the track, "There's no love without freedom / No freedom without love."

According to Buzzfeed, Cyrus also performed a song she hasn't sung on stage on six years — "The Climb." On Twitter, the singer said the show was dedicated "to not only mourning this horrific event but using this platform to encourage unity, peace & hopefulness," adding, "These words mean more now to me than ever."

The performance clearly made an impact on a number of viewers. "This is beautiful," one YouTube commenter wrote. "Adam Sandler is an underrated artist and Miley is just perfect, what a great performance!" wrote another.
