Ed Sheeran Surprises Fans With 'Shape Of You' Remix Featuring Stormzy At The Brit Awards

"One of the greatest days of my life."

Ed Sheeran has been making the press and performance rounds lately, promoting his upcoming album, Divide. He surprised an 8-year-old singer on Ellen, transformed a Little Mix song into an acoustic ballad in the Live Lounge, and even gifted his fans with a new heartfelt song on his birthday

If you weren't excited enough for the album to drop, the British singer-songwriter made sure to get you curious about an upcoming performance. During an interview on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show With Nick Grimshaw, Sheeran teased a surprise for his Brit Awards appearance.

"I've got two things dropping on Friday that are pretty interesting," he said. "One that gets debuted at the Brits, which I think people will go a bit nuts for," he said. "It's something that I think nobody is expecting. I think it'll be decent. I've managed to keep it secret up until now, which is good."

When Sheeran took the stage at London's O2 Arena, he did not disappoint. First, he beautifully performed his new single "Castle on the Hill." Then, he revealed the surprise he had up his sleeve when British grime artist Stormzy joined him on stage for "Shape of You" to perform a new verse.

You can watch the performance in the video below:

The collaboration follows an appearance on Noisey earlier this week where Sheeran and Stormzy, who was nominated for the British Breakthrough award at the Brit Awards, interviewed each other. In the video, they discussed how they met and praised each other's talents.

Both Sheeran and Stormzy took to Twitter to share how happy they were with the performance. In his tweet, Sheeran revealed that an official remix of the song will be released.

One need only look to Twitter to see that all the hype surrounding Sheeran's Brit Awards appearance paid off.

To top things off, Stormzy shared a photo of he and Sheeran wearing T-shirts with each other's upcoming album covers printed across them.

We look forward to see more collaborations between these two in the future.
