Celine Dion Marks The 20th Anniversary Of 'My Heart Will Go On' With A Stunning New Performance

The perfect "Titanic" tribute.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Titanic, and in turn the 20th anniversary of "My Heart Will Go On," the Oscar-winning song written by James Horner and Will Jennings, and sung by none other than Celine Dion. To mark this milestone, Dion herself took the stage at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night to deliver a stunning new performance of the song.

Wearing a dramatic white gown, Dion sang the emotional lyrics as iconic scenes from James Cameron's film played on a screen behind her. She finished the performance to an enthusiastic standing ovation from the crowd.

"Being part of a classic is a very big, big honor," Dion told Billboard backstage after the performance. "When I sing it every night, something happens. Tonight it was very special. People made it very, very special, so it's something that I will never forget."

Dion accepted the Icon Award at last year's ceremony.

In addition to performing "My Heart Will Go On" regularly as part of her Las Vegas show, Dion sang a particularly meaningful rendition last summer for the ABC series Greatest Hits. The singer dedicated the performance to her late husband René Angélil, who passed away in January 2016.
