Boyce Avenue Covers Sam Smith's 'Too Good At Goodbyes' In Their Beautiful Acoustic Style

"One of our favorite songs of 2017."

Just last week, Sam Smith released his second album, The Thrill of it All, with tracks such as "Pray," "Say It First," and "Too Good at Goodbyes."

With regards to "Too Good at Goodbyes," Smith tells Billboard that it developed after he had been dumped. "I put an armor up after that happened because it was the first time I had been in that situation with someone romantically," he says. "I felt a little bit more prepared for the heartbreak and that period when something awful happens." It was also the first single he released from the album back in September

Since then, numerous artists have covered the song, as well as used it as inspiration for dance performances, such as choreographer Kyle Hanagami. And on October 29, Boyce Avenue released their own musical performance of the song on their YouTube channel. Since then, it has amassed nearly 650,000 views.

Set in a dark room with just a few lights, lead vocalist and guitar player Alejandro Manzano sits solo, singing "Too Good at Goodbyes" in the band's quintessential acoustic style.

"We are big fans of Sam Smith and it was a pleasure covering his new single 'Too Good At Goodbyes,' " Boyce Avenue captions on YouTube. "One of our favorite songs of 2017."
