LGBTQ+ Pride Month

Here's Why Miley Cyrus Is Wearing Rainbow Converse This Month

While Miley Cyrus is busy writing songs, performing, and transforming her style, she's also working to support LGBTQ rights. The singer, who identifies as pansexual, has performed backyard concerts to raise money for at-risk individuals from the LGBTQ community. She even has her The Happy Hippie Foundation, which aims to provide support to homeless LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable groups.

Continuing her activism, Cyrus is now collaborating with Converse for its "Yes to All" campaign in celebration of Pride Month.

For the campaign, Converse is releasing limited-edition sneakers with rainbows on them, with Miley acting as their front woman.

What's more, all net proceeds from Converse's rainbow Pride collection will be donated to The Happy Hippie Foundation, along with It Gets Better, a non-profit organization which aids LGBTQ youth. Both groups are extremely important considering 40 percent of homeless youth identify as being LGBTQ.

Converse isn't the only fashion brand celebrating Pride this month. Brands such as The Gap, Target and Nike are also waving their rainbow colors by releasing collections that raise awareness and funds for the LGBTQ community. Here's hoping more fashion brands get on the Pride wagon in the future, because the more support, the better!

Cyrus wrote on Instagram about Converse's "Yes to All" campaign:

"Yassss! I'm teaming up w @converse ! I ❤️ the #Pride collection supporting the LGBTQ community! Thank u for joining the @happyhippiefdn family and helping us continue our fight for equality & justice! #YesToAll ! 💜❤️💛💚💙"
