In The Spirit Of Giving

After Seeing A Man Outside In The Cold Without A Coat, She Knew She Had To Help

"Nobody should ever be without a coat in this weather."

We love tinsel and trappings as much as the next Elf on the Shelf devotees, but here at A Plus, we believe that true wintertime magic comes in the form of connection and human kindness. Over the next month, come back and join us in raising a glass to those who give — because what's December without a little holiday spirit?

As the temperatures drop, one woman noticed a person in need and decided to do something about it.

In a video posted on the Love What Matters Facebook page, Christina Calvo explains that she was driving down Meriden Road in Waterbury, Connecticut when she saw a man standing outside with no coat. Realizing she could help, she headed to the store and "bought the warmest coat [she] could find."

"I sped back in hopes he was still there and he was! Nobody should ever be without a coat in this weather. He was so thankful for it. I put it on him, zipped it up, gave him a hug, and wished him a Merry Christmas," Calvo adds in the post.

In a video attached to the post, viewers can see Calvo head out to meet the man, asking if she could please give him the coat.

"Oh my god," the man says as Calvo helps him put it on. Then, they hug. "Drive safe, please. Thank you," he adds as Calvo heads back to the car.

Though it's a short and simple clip, Calvo's post shows the power of small acts of kindness, and hopefully, we can all learn from it too.
