They May Be Dead, But These Leaves Are Bringing Vibrant Colors To 17 Pieces Of Art

Long live the fallen leaf.

In Japan, citizens have found an interesting way to breathe new life into dead fallen leaves.

The creative trend sweeping the Land of the Rising Sun is "ochiba art," or "fallen leaf art," and it has inspired some seriously creative works.

The leaves are used to create colorful masterpieces on their own or in the company of beautiful flowers, acorns, and even a bird's nest to truly show the awesomeness of nature.

Some stray from modern art and instead create fun leaf pieces replicating pop culture staples, such as Pokémon and Hello Kitty. Others transform the leaves into animals and bugs like roosters, grasshoppers, and even a dragon.

The point is that this street art trend is a wonderful way to add splashes of color to towns and cities across Japan by simply using the natural elements often overshadowed by everyday life.
