25 Captivating Photos Taken From The Sky Have Us Falling In Love With L.A.

A bird's-eye view of the City of Angels.

Dylan Schwartz has traveled around the world shooting beautiful images from sky-high. But it's his hometown of Los Angeles that brings him back down to earth time and time again. Although most of his views of the City of Angels are consistent with his other photographs — taken from the cockpit of a helicopter — the L.A. images translate into something more.

From downtown to Venice Beach, Chinatown to Joshua Tree a few hours away, even if you're never been to Los Angeles, Schwartz's photos invite viewers to join him in is love for the West Coast metropolis … smog and all.

After countless inquiries about his secret magical photo recipe, Schwartz revealed his weapon camera of choice and shared an achievement on Instagram.

"I get asked a lot of questions about which camera and lenses I use. And for the last few years, my answer has always been Sony," he recently captioned a beautiful pic of the city at dusk.

He added, "That's why I'm excited to say that I've joined the Sony Alpha Imaging Collective #AlphaCollective | @SonyAlpha stay tuned for more on this in the future. It should be a lot of fun!"

Schwartz's creativity in photography is a way of life. He's currently the vice president of Creative and Content at MullenLowe, an advertising and marketing communications agency, and won a Cannes Lion Clio Award — from the esteemed international awards competition for the creative business — for his "Gas Powered Everything" campaign for Nissan. The commercial was also voted by Adweek as one of the 10 best commercials of 2011.

Overall, this sky-high shutterbug is an all-around go-getter, who just happens to love photography.

"Dylan is also heavily engaged in social media," his online bio states. "He's been able to take a passion for photography and turn it into a strong audience of 65,000 followers on Instagram."

At press time, he's at more than 77,000 Instagram followers, with that increase no doubt thanks to his from-the-sky photography.
