ICYMI, March is Women's History Month, and we're celebrating with a discussion between women about the women who have made history in the television industry (and a few glasses of wine, of course).
On Monday, March 12, at 2:15 p.m., the A Plus Book Club will interview Joy Press, author of Stealing the Show, a book about the women showrunners who are not only the masterminds behind instant classics such as Roseanne and Grey's Anatomy, but have forever changed the entertainment industry altogether.
The veteran journalist interviewed the key players in the biz, from Murphy Brown's Diane English to Gilmore Girls' Amy Sherman Palladino to Broad City's Abbi Jabson and Ilana Glazer, showing how decades of determined women have inspired and built on each other's work.
After all, we wouldn't have our little two-women-run Facebook Live show if not for the strides made by these enterprising women and fellow journalists like Press.
(And, of course, Oprah — to whom we owe everything.)
While we won't officially begin dismantling the patriarchy (one TV at a time) with Joy Press until March 12, you can start right now with Stealing the Show.
Sit back, relax, and binge-read for equal representation on screen — and everywhere else.
