Gal Gadot Wishes Wonder Woman A Happy Birthday As Fans Share How The Hero Inspired Them

"Thank you for changing my life ..."

If last year taught us anything, it's that Wonder Woman is the hero we need and deserve. Not only did the Patty Jenkins-directed film absolutely crush the box office and provide a female protagonist who oozes empowerment, but the movie helped both women and girls to embrace the hero that lies within them.

"Wonder Woman, my amazing amazon, happy birthday!" Gal Gadot, who played Princess Diana of Themyscira in the 2017 flick, wrote on Instagram yesterday. "You are as beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Hermes, and stronger than Hercules — all the Gods are with you, and you are with us all to help make the world a better place. Thank you for changing my life, and for inspiring people worldwide to find their own superpower."

Per DC Comics history (via a handy calendar), March 22 is the day that Wonder Woman was molded from clay and brought to life. We can actually see the frame that depicts this heroine's birth in the social media post Gadot posted. The character — which premiered in 1941 — is known for flying the Invisible Jet, wearing the Bracelets of Submission, wielding the Lasso of Truth, and being the most level-headed of the Justice League.

All of this has led to Wonder Woman being a positive influence for many people who also wanted to join Gadot in wishing the Amazonian goddess a very happy birthday and telling her what she means to them by using #HappyBDayWonderWoman on Twitter and Instagram.
