Veterinarian Sings 'Can't Help Falling In Love' To Calm Puppy Before Surgery

Though getting surgery can be a scary event for an animal, one veterinarian's trying to make the process a little bit easier for his patients.

In a video uploaded to the Fox Hollow Animal Hospital's Facebook page, veterinarian Ross Henderson can be seen playing the guitar and singing Elvis's "Can't Help Falling In Love" to a 6-month-old puppy named Ruby.

"Sometimes your patient just needs you to go the extra mile to make them feel comfortable when they're here for the day to have surgery," those at the Lakewood, Colorado hospital captioned the video. "Dr. Ross has mastered the technique and sweet Ruby was so thankful for that."

The video also shows Ruby quietly tucked into Ross's lap, closing her eyes as the music plays.

We think it's safe to say the video has resonated with animal lovers; since being uploaded late April, the video has been viewed nearly 500 thousand times.

"A beautiful moment and what a beautiful man to spend his time comforting the dog," one Facebook user commented on the video.

As for Ruby, Ross tells HuffPost the puppy's doing just fine post-surgery:

"She actually came in yesterday for a recheck," Ross said. "She's bouncing around, acting like a completely normal, excited puppy. She's doing well."
