Nobody Except Tituss Burgess Should Ever Play Ursula In 'The Little Mermaid' After This Epic Performance

"Poor Unfortunate Souls" like you've never heard it before.

As if Tituss Burgess performing a Beyoncé-esque Lemonade medley on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season 3 wasn't enough goodness for you, there's more to be thankful for these days. The 38-year-old performed a few tunes at last weekend's Vulture Festival in NYC that we simply cannot get over.

First up was a Disney classic — and one Burgess has some interesting history with. See, Burgess was in the 2007 Broadway musical of The Little Mermaid as Ariel's crab sidekick, Sebastian, but there's another character that he said he'd love to have played: Ursula. That's right, the villainous sea witch herself.

According to outlets such as Entertainment Weekly and Playbill, Burgess told the crowd that he told the producers he wanted to audition for the other role when he was about to leave the show as Sebastian, but they told him no. That's when he launched into an adult version of Ursula's big song "Poor Unfortunate Souls" that should seal the role for him in any future adaptations.

Burgess goes on to treat us all by singing a few more songs before bringing out a surprise for the audience: his fellow 30 Rock alum and current Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt co-star Jane Krakowski. The two unite onstage to wow us with "Get Happy"/"Happy Days Are Here Again," a duet made famous by legendary ladies Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand after trading some adorable jabs.

If these little moments teach us anything it's that you can never have too much Burgess in your life.
