The Highest Paid 1950s Pin-Up Girl And Her Impossible 18-Inch Waist.

Perfect distortions?

To her fans, Betty Brosmer is the ultimate glamour girl of all times. Some say, her picture should be the illustration next to the term „hourglass figure". Back in 1950"s, Betty was the highest paid pin-up girl who appeared on thousands of magazines including LIFE, Time, Fortune and others.

Why, you might ask?
Because of her impossibly tiny waist that"s only 18 inches (45.72 cm) wide!

OK, not just because of that. Betty embodied the all-American dream girl with her platinum blonde hair, strikingly white smile and voluptuous body proportions. Now she"s 78 and still looks like a million bucks!

Betty's classic beauty put her on over 300 magazine covers and books.

She's said to have the greatest hourglass figure of all time: 38-18-36 (inches).

Betty has won over 50 beauty contests before the age of 20.

Betty's face popularized the tree-shaped air fresheners for cars throughout the world.

The unbelievable waist might be the result of corset training, also known as waist training, waist reduction or tight-lacing.

Now corsets are considered extremely unhealthy as they reshape the ribcage and move internal organs out of their original positions.

Oddly enough, Betty Brosmer is the co-founder of SHAPE Magazine, the first health and fitness publication for women.

At the age of 78, she still publishes two magazine columns, "Body by Betty" and "Health by Betty.

Remember, there was no Photoshop back in 1950s...

Current holder of the smallest waist record belongs to Cathie Jung. Her corseted waist measures at 15 in (38.1 cm), un-corseted it measures 21 in (53.34 cm).

We highly doubt that Superman could fit into her leotard.

What do you think: hot or not?
