This Jewelry Company Is Employing Homeless People, Giving Them The Key To A Brighter Future

They make keys inscribed with words like "Dream" and "Hope."

According to a 2015 report, there are more than 500,000 people who are homeless in the United States — and a quarter of them are children. In order to help people transition out of homelessness, one jewelry company called The Giving Keys only hires those living on the streets. The company's employees assemble jewelry made out of repurposed keys. They inscribe the keys with words like "Dream" and "Hope," and turn them into necklaces to be given to those who need the words most.

According to the video above, the company was founded by Caitlyn Crosby as a pay-it-forward initiative. Not only does this initiative employ the homeless, but it helps place them in future jobs where they can utilize their skills. It's a win-win.
