This Teen Didn't Get An Invite To The Met Gala, So She Created Her Own Party At Home

"I wasn't able to make it to The #MetGala but here are my outfits for the event!"

Quenlin Blackwell may not have snagged an invitation to the 2017 Met Gala, but that wasn't going to stop her from celebrating.

The teen paid homage to the risk-taking ensembles that often grace the red carpet at the affair by creating her own couture outfits. She modeled them in a video posted to Twitter under the username @quenblackwell.

And the 38-second video has gone viral.

Despite Blackwell not actually attending the Met Gala, her outfits have become some of the most talked about of the night.

In the video, the teen playfully addresses how the Met Gala is known for its avant-garde fashions with her DIY creations. For one look, she adds a broom as an accessory to a sweater and shorts. Then she struts down her "runway" with a blanket wrapped to create a dress.

For another look, she prances down the room while twirling a wicker basket over her head.

The teenager explained to Teen Vogue about the inspiration for the video, "The looks of all of these celebrities really has Twitter on edge so I thought, 'why not add my look?'" She added that she "honestly grabbed whatever was in sight" to make her viral ensembles.

Twitter users are appreciating Blackwell's humor. Despite it not even being 24 hours since the Met Gala, the tweet with Blackwell's video has been liked over 92,400 times and retweeted over 44,000 times.

Blackwell told Teen Vogue that she was surprised by the reaction the video received considering she posts funny things a lot of the time. And she added that if she does happen to get an invite to next year's Met Gala, she would attend.
