This Young Student's Letter To His Grieving Teacher Is Going Viral For The Sweetest Reason

"But most of all I know your dog was special and your dog is in a better place and is looking over you."

Kids often say the darndest things, but one little boy named Callum wrote the sweetest thing after he learned that his teacher, Mrs. Dunne, had recently put her dog, Charlie, down. The young student offered his condolences in a heartwarming letter to Mrs. Dunne, complete with an acrostic poem.

Posted on Twitter by Mrs. Dunne's daughter, Lucie, the letter reads:

"To Mrs. Dunne

Sorry if you don't like it or it makes you emotional.

I'm sorry about your dog. I want to say that your dog was

Cheeky, I bet your dog was really cheeky.

Happy, I bet your dog was always happy.

Adorable, I bet your dog was super adorable.

Relative, I bet your dog was really related to you.

Lucky, I bet your dog was really lucky to have.

Incredible, I bet your dog was super incredible.

Energetic, I bet your dog was always full of energy.

But most of all I know your dog was special and your dog is in a better place and is looking over you.

Charlie was a great dog.

From

Callum"

Since the tweet, featuring photos of the letter, was posted on February 19, it's received more than 51,000 likes and nearly 9,000 retweets. Many have applauded Callum for his kindness, calling him a "lovely, thoughful child" and "bloody adorable."

One Twitter user was so inspired by Callum's acrostic poem they decided to create their own version in honor of the little boy with the big heart.

While we don't know what grade Callum is getting in Mrs. Dunne's class, he gets an A+ in our hearts.
