This Soldier Surprised His Dad For His Birthday — Only To Be Surprised Himself

"My heart is so full [of] thanks... This was the best night ever!"

When Christopher Adams, an allied trade specialist in the U.S. Army, came home from Germany, he and his wife Courtney came up with an elaborate plan to surprise Adams' dad, Lee, for his birthday at a celebratory dinner.

As seen in the video, Adams walked through the Texas Roadhouse to surprise his father sitting at one of the tables. As soon as he saw his son, the dad shouted "Hey!" and immediately wrapped him up in a long, heartfelt embrace.

The restaurant assisted in pulling off the surprise by not only making a special reservation for the Adams family, but also closing all the blinds just in case Adams and his wife walked by the wrong window. The entire homecoming was  filmed on the manager's personal cellphone.

But even the masterminds behind the surprise didn't expect the act of kindness that followed. "They covered the entire party's order, and they specially ordered a cake just for Lee," Courtney Adams wrote in a Facebook post of the restaurant staff. "My heart is so full [of] thanks to the managers and staff of Texas Roadhouse!!! This was the best night ever!"

According to a picture of the receipt, the restaurant not only paid for the meal, but  also made sure to include a special message:: "Welcome Home."

Since Adams shared her Facebook post on May 30, it has already received more than 16,000 likes and 8,000 shares. She also submitted the story to Love What Matters' Facebook page, where it garnered another 16,000 likes.
