Soldier Watches His Daughter's Birth On FaceTime While He Waits In An Airport

"I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make."

When one soldier named Brooks Lindsey couldn't be home to watch the birth of his daughter, he did what he could — he watched the event on FaceTime while sitting in an airport.

Tracy Dover, a witness waiting to board her flight, took a photo of Brooks sitting on the floor, dressed in uniform and holding his phone. Tracy then shared it to Facebook with a caption.

"This army soldier was on my delayed flight home yesterday to [Mississippi]," she wrote. "He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. He was crying and our hearts were breaking. We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him. I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make."

Lindsey's wife, Haley Lindsey, later shared a video of Brooks at the airport, noting they named their daughter Millie.

According to a post from the 2d Battalion, 114th Field Artillery Regiment, Brooks was finally able to get home and meet Millie.

Since sharing the photo and video to Facebook, the images have been met with kind words and thanks from viewers.

"Thank you for your service! Congratulations to you and your family!!!" one person wrote

"Thank y'all so much for the tremendous amount of love and support for our little family!!" Haley commented on Tracey's photo. "We cannot believe how far and wide this story has traveled! I really hope it gives other military families hope for getting their loved ones home in an emergency or other life change! It may [not have gone] exactly how we planned, but it is absolutely perfect the way it is! Thank you Tracy Dover for sharing this moment with us and everyone!!"

We wish the Lindsey family all the best!
