17 Small Things People Did In 2017 That Made A Big Difference In Their Lives

No. 12 is so simple, yet can make a huge difference.

With the start of the new year less than a week away, many of us are thinking about the grand changes we hope to make in 2018. But adding a few smaller goals to our list of resolutions can be a good idea, too. Things like buying a great water bottle so you'll stay hydrated, calling your parents just to say hi, or setting an alarm that reminds you to read for 20 minutes before bed.

A thread started by writer Helen Rosner might give you some other good ideas. On Sunday, Rosner asked her Twitter followers to share some of the small things they've done in 2017 that have made a big impact in their lives.

"What are some tiny things you've done this year to make your life immeasurably better?" she wrote.

She was inspired by a small change she made in her own life — keeping a phone charger in her bathroom. "Like literally how did I live before charge 'n poo?" she tweeted.

The tweet received more than 490 responses and has over 1,800 likes. The responses show that little things really can make a big difference and these kind of changes shouldn't be overlooked. And, if you're someone who never seems to keep your New Years' resolutions, these kinds of changes might seem a lot more manageable.

Below are a few of the best responses.
