Seth Meyers Tells The Funny And Touching Story Of His Second Son's Unique Birth

With the pictures to prove it.

Seth Meyers is a great storyteller, especially when he's talking about the birth of his children. In 2016, he described his experience of becoming a dad for the first time, when his wife Alexi Ashe gave birth to their son Ashe Olson. Over the weekend, the couple welcomed their second son, Axel Strahl, and the host had quite the saga to share about his birth.

As Meyers explained on his show, he and his wife were on their way out of their apartment building to go to the hospital, with an Uber waiting outside, when Ashe said, "I can't get in the car. I'm gonna have the baby right now." Sure enough, she ended up giving birth in the lobby of their building.

"She looked like someone was hiding a baby in a pair of sweatpants," Meyers joked to describe how quickly the baby arrived. "I called 911, and over the course of a minute conversation, I basically said, 'We're about to have a baby, we're having a baby, we had a baby.'"

Meyers also shared the photos of the fire department surrounding his wife as she held their newborn son against her chest. Apparently, one of the firemen even cut the umbilical cord. His wife rode in an ambulance to the hospital, where the host says "everything was fine."

Things got emotional as Meyers explained the origin of his son's middle name Strahl — after his wife's grandparents, who were Holocaust survivors. He also praised his wife for how "amazing" she was under the unusual circumstances. As his voice broke, he went on to joke, "I'm getting choked up thinking about how brave I was."
