The Hilarious 'Mom Crush' Song Reminds Moms Not To Compare Themselves On Social Media

"And we need each other because momming is HARD!"

No matter what we do, or how well we do it, it's easy to compare ourselves to others.

"As a mom, I am constantly looking at social media and feeling inadequate when I compare myself to other moms. It's totally wrong, and I totally do it all the time," singer Amy Perry of Selah captions a video on their Facebook page. "I was allowing other mom's successes to make me feel like a failure; not by anything they did to me, but because of my own insecurities."

So Perry decided to rework Little Big Town's country hit, "Girl Crush" to write about her "Mom Crush" with some catchy (and funny) lyrics: "I got a mom crush / Her Pinterest is just too much / When she pin's my heart's crushed / 'Cuz mine always fail."

The song addresses those moms that use their social media to project images of perfection, but Perry also acknowledges that while those moms may appear a certain way on social media, at the end of the day, they're just like her — thus ending an unnecessary crush.

"We all want to be perfect and we're all doing the best we can, and I hope this video shows a little of that. We are all in this together. And we need each other because momming [sic] is HARD!" Perry adds in the caption.

Since posting the video to Facebook, the performance has been viewed nearly 4 million times — with tons of positive comments from mothers flooding the feed.

"This is great! With six children, it's safe to say I often question if I'm doing enough for each one. Thank you for making me chuckle," one mother writes.

"Love, love, love this! So funny, heartfelt, and brings the point home. Let's stop comparing, and be the moms we are called to be. That looks different for each of us," another adds.

The video also comes just before Mother's Day, perhaps reminding us to go out and thank our mothers for all they do, and make sure they know just how special they are.
