Student Asks Professor How To Know You're In Love And His Answer Is Pretty Damn Good

"I LOVE teaching this class."

Turns out, some professors have some pretty great advice when it comes to love, dating, and relationships

Ohio University offers a course called Introduction to Human Communication and assistant professor Dan West, 51, is teaching two of the sections this fall. The course includes a section on love and relationships which his classes recently finished. So, he opened up the discussion to questions about the subjects. The questions are written anonymously, allowing students to ask specific, and sometimes personal, questions.

One student asked, "How do you know when you're in love?"

According to Buzzfeed, West responded by saying, "It just hits you, you can't expect it and you can't plan for it." Then, he used his own experience as an example.

West and his now wife, Vicki, met in October 1992 and started dating in January 1993. One day, the pair stopped into a grocery store to get some food when Vicki stopped to pick out some ice cream. Watching her pick out a flavor made him realize she was the person he wanted to grocery shop with for the rest of his life. The couple got engaged shortly afterward and have been married since September 1993.

Nineteen-year-old student Victoria Helmke was so touched by West's response, she shared it on Twitter.

But Helmke wasn't the only person who thought the answer was sweet and sound. Her tweet has since been shared more than 77,000 times and has over 342,000 likes. Many people responded by saying that they were touched by West's story and that they agree with the sentiment.

West created a Twitter account himself after learning that Helmke's tweet went viral. He's been responding to people's questions and thank them.

And the flavor Vicki chose was Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby. How's that for happily ever after?
