19 People Share What It's Like To Parent While Struggling With Anxiety

"My son is the only person that is able to help me through my anxiety ... He's 7."

Raising children is no walk in the park for anyone, but parents who suffer from anxiety have their own unique challenges when it comes to their family life.

Parents with anxiety used the Whisper app, an anonymous confessions platform, to share some of their daily struggles. For some, having children helped to ease their symptoms. For others, parenthood brought on a whole new set of worries. Many of these confessions are from parents who have social anxiety, which can make taking kids to playdates, parties, family functions, and even the park that much more difficult. Hopefully, reading their confessions will help shed light on the obstacles parents with mental illnesses face. And if you are a parent with similar experiences, perhaps these stories will provide some comfort as they prove you're not alone.
