The Super Bowl is this Sunday, and that means Jimmy Kimmel has brought us another installment of NFL stars reading Mean Tweets. Just like the yearly commercials and Jimmy Fallon's puppy predictions, we can't imagine the big game without it.
Former and current NFL players, from Peyton Manning to Michael Crabtree, put their good sportsmanship to the test as they read some of Twitter's meanest insults about them. As usual, the tweets ran the gamut from expletive-laden burns to childish puns to over-the-top comparisons — and the stars took them all with good humor.
Of course, that doesn't mean they didn't offer up a few quick comebacks. To put it in football terms, their defense was strong. For example, when Terry Bradshaw read a tweet saying he looked like someone dressed up as Terry Bradshaw for Halloween, he replied, "That's a compliment, my friend."
Then there was the person who called Amari Cooper by the nickname "Amari Pooper," with the hashtag #amiright. Cooper's simple response? "You're wrong."
