Singer Clones Himself To Perform An Epic Acapella 'Home Alone' Mash-Up

He's a one-man symphony.

If Home Alone ranks among your favorite holiday movies of all time, you're probably familiar with the amazing soundtrack, featuring classic Christmas tunes and original music from legendary composer John Williams. But have you ever heard that soundtrack performed by one guy, using only his own voice?

The answer to that question will be yes, once you watch YouTuber Mike Tompkins' new video. Tompkins created his own one-man symphony, layering his voice to mimic instruments in the ultimate acapella mash-up. He goes through some of the film's classic theme music, as well as that iconic rendition of "Carol of the Bells," and the original song "Somewhere in My Memory."

But Tompkins went beyond just cloning his voice — he also cloned his image for a very cool music video. He appears dozens of times, sitting in rows of chairs or standing like a choir. In a behind-the-scenes video about the making of the clip, Tompkins can be seen performing in front of a green screen. With the help of some computer effects, it looks like he's part of an entire matching orchestra.

"I think I know what you're all thinking," Tompkins says at the end of the video. "That was a weird one." He adds that he had wanted to do something orchestral for a while, and thought Williams' music for the film was "absolutely amazing."
