In addition to Black Panther breaking box office records, smashing society's default image of what a superhero looks like, and crushing it in terms of representation, it's also shattering other things — specifically, retainers.

The talk of the web yesterday centered around an orthodontist whose Tumblr post about a patient who came in for an emergency visit went viral. According to the doc, a patient snapped her retainer during a screening of the new Marvel film by clenching her jaw too tightly.

The best part is that it all happened because she saw Michael B. Jordan shirtless onscreen. Honestly, who can blame her?

When this post made the rounds online, one Twitter user realized it sounded a lot like what happened to her. That's when @pixyrue, whose name is Sophia Robb, came forward and revealed that she is the patient in the orthodontist's post.

That's right, someone came forward as the "girl thirsting so goddamn hard she busted steel." In her tweets, the 18-year-old joked about the whole thing and called her doc "the chillest person I have ever met even though he exposed me on the internet."

Things escalated from there, with Jordan actually following Robb on Twitter and proceeding to slide into her DMs, she revealed. Then, in a hilarious turn, Jordan actually tweeted that he would replace Robb's retainer because he felt "partly responsible" for it ending up broken in the first place.

Robb told Teen Vogue the whole experience has been "overwhelming" for her and she thinks it's all "hilarious," and that she "always thought he [the orthodontist] was the coolest person." And, as Robb told BuzzFeed, "it honestly was worth breaking my retainer over."

With the attention all on her, Robb used this big moment to also encourage people to do something she thinks is super important: register to vote.

Moral of the story? Brace yourself for when the Creed star ditches a shirt. Just ask Robb.
