As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's not forget to also celebrate and support young girls. Soon-to-be duchess Meghan Markle is leading by example. On Thursday, Markle and her fiancé Prince Harry made a royal visit to Birmingham, England, where they attended an event hosted by Stemettes, a social enterprise that encourages young women and girls to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields.

There, Prince Harry met Sophia Richards, a 10-year-old student at Oasis Academy whose dream is to become an actress. When Sophia told Harry of her aspirations, the prince took her by the hand and introduced her to Markle. The young girl shared her dreams with the Suits actress, who then embraced her with a hug — a gesture that breaks royal protocol.

"Meghan told me that I can achieve whatever I want to achieve," Sophia told People. "And Meghan said she would like to see me on TV when I become an actress. It was a dream come true. I will never forget this day."

People couldn't get enough of this sweet moment.

According to Town and Country, Markle broke royal protocol with the hug. Traditionally, royals are to offer handshakes. To be fair, she did shake Sophia's hand before hugging her. In any case, Markle seems to be more casual and approachable; she's often seen greeting people with a friendly hug. And, today, she had a wonderful message for the youngster.

This delightful day will be one the girl won't ever forget. It's also a wonderful reminder for all of us to empower and support the young girls in our lives.
