Baby Hears His Mom's Voice For The First Time And His Reaction Is Priceless

What an incredible moment.

Matthew Swetnam was born eight weeks early, weighing just 2 pounds 11 ounces. He was diagnosed at birth with congenital cytomegalovirus, a relatively common viral infection that the CDC reports affects about 1 in 150 babies. Unfortunately one in five babies affected by the virus will suffer from long-term health effects, including liver problems and deafness, both of which affect Matthew.

The video you're about to see, however, shows the miraculous moment that Matthew, at 4 months old, hears his mother's voice for the first time after being fitted with a hearing aid. It was uploaded to YouTube by his mother Erin Swetnam who notes that he will probably receive a cochlear implant when he is older.

His reaction is priceless, and a reminder of the amazing things advancements in technology can do for people of all ages.
