Mariah Carey’s Hot Takes On Christmas Will Certainly Get You In The Holiday Spirit

"What are you talking about? Santa comes every year!"

We all know Mariah Carey is the queen of Christmas — after all, 'tis the season to blast "All I Want for Christmas is You" at maximum volume — so getting her hot takes on the holiday is totally necessary. Good thing for us, she recently participated in a puppy-filled interview with BuzzFeed to discuss exactly that.

The two-minute video is filled with the legendary singer's off-the-cuff answers about Christmas, from believing that Santa Claus is real (who dares try to tell her otherwise?) to revealing what she wants as a present this year (which Mimi humbly answered). The conversation, though, was pretty much derailed because the dogs, adoptable via Vanderpump Dogs, were having too much fun.

If the song "All I Want for Christmas is You" isn't enough for you, Carey was there to promote a new animated film with the same title that's out now — after turning it into a children's book in 2015. The song comes from Carey's first holiday album, titled Merry Christmas, was released back in 1994 — though it returns to the charts each and every year right around this time and is a staple.

And, while you might think that the 47-year-old set out to make "All I Want for Christmas is You" the massive hit that it is, that wasn't the case. As Carey explains it: "I wasn't thinking about that, I was just recording a Christmas song. That's a boring answer but it's the truth!"
