Man Donates More Than 26,000 Books To A Children's Book Drive

“I’m glad they are being put to good use.”

Thousands of children in Charlotte, North Carolina will now get to read new stories thanks to a generous donation. A man named Crews Walden donated over 26,000 books to a kids' book drive

Walden works at C.D. Stampley Enterprises, a publisher that  primarily prints Bibles in Charlotte, and found tens of thousands of books collecting dust in their warehouse. Soon after, his wife told him about the "TV64 Books for Kids Collection Drive." He decided to clear out the warehouse and donate the books.

"It's a win-win," Walden told WSOC-TV. "I'm glad they are being put to good use."

Employees from the news station sprang into action to help load up a truck full of the books, many of which are written in Spanish. The donation will help kids around the city of Charlotte develop their reading skills
