6 Times Lili Reinhart Shut Down Body-Shamers, Making Us Love Her Even More

"My body is something that I will NEVER apologize for."

Lili Reinhart is known for her breakout role as Betty Cooper on Riverdale, but she has also established herself as someone who stands up for what she believes in.

In a recent Harper's Bazaar interview, the actress explained, "If it's something that I'm passionate about, I'm going to talk about it." Some of those topics of include her body dysmorphia, acne, and mental health. She doesn't let haters try to silence or discredit her. She claps back and shows no negative comment will keep her quiet.

Here are six times Reinhart shut down body-shamers and haters.

1. The time she called out people for comparing her outfit to a lingerie model's.

"This is a poll. A competition. A comparison of two bodies," she wrote on Tumblr. "It's a feeding ground for comments of judgement and negativity."

2. The time she shut down trolls who said she was pregnant.

"Nope. Not pregnant. This is just my body. And sometimes I'm bloated. Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight," the actress explained on Instagram Stories. "My body is something that I will NEVER apologize for," Reinhart continued. "My body will constantly go through changes. And so will yours. And that's fine. So let's not put so much time and effort into caring about a stranger's figure."

3. The time she shut down trolls who tried to invalidate her body dysmorphia.

"I hope this example helps show you a significant problem that's going on today with young boys and girls," she continued. "This is why people with mental health issues — depression, eating disorders, body dysmorphia — sometimes don't get the help they need because they're shamed into being quiet."

4. The time she called out a magazine for Photoshopping her and her co-star, Camila Mendes.

"Camila and I have worked incredibly hard to feel confident and comfortable in the bodies that we have. It's an everyday battle, sometimes," she wrote on Instagram. "And to see our bodies become so distorted in an editing process is a perfect example of the obstacles we have yet to overcome." She proclaimed, "It's sad that you [Cosmopolitan Philippines] felt our bodies needed to be slimmed down," she wrote. "But Cami and I are f*cking beautiful. As is. And you can't 'fix' us."

5. The time she made it clear her body isn't up for debate.

After the pregnancy rumors, she stated she will not keep silent when people talk about her body. "It's kind of sad that people felt the need to make my weight a topic of conversation, but it's just the world we live in," she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "I'm going to always speak out about something that I feel I need to talk about."

6. The time she shut down someone who tried to shame her for her weight on 'Riverdale.'

She reportedly continued to put the "fat-shaming" trolls in their place on Instagram Stories and offered others advice on how to deal with body shaming.
