This Newborn Baby Photoshoot Doesn't Feature A Human, And It's All Kinds Of Precious

Now, she's using the photos to do good.

Lots of people feature their newborns for photoshoots to share with friends and families, but not all newborns are human of course. So, when photographer Kitty Schaub and her 5-year-old daughter, Amelie, adopted a kitten named Luna, they decided the cat would make a perfect subject for a shoot.

Inspiration for the shoot came last April when Schaub "took out a bunch of props she uses for newborn baby photoshoots in preparation for a client. She was about to wash them, when she noticed Luna snoozing away on the couch and was suddenly struck with a fun idea."

Schaub wrapped the kitten in blankets, adding a floral headband for an extra-cute touch. She then photographed Luna sleeping and lounging ever so peacefully, posing like a newborn child.

"The bowl I posed her in is literally a salad bowl from my kitchen," Schaub says

"This is seriously the most adorable thing I have ever seen!!" one Facebook user comments on a photo of Luna.

Since sharing them to her Facebook page, Schaub's photos have gone viral, collecting thousands of likes and plenty of encouraging comments.

Schaub has even decided to use her new platform to promote animal adoption, selling calendars with all of Luna's newborn pictures. Schaub notes that all profits will benefit a local animal rescue organization, Save A Stray, in St. Joseph, Michigan.

"Luna has a happy home, but let's help some other kittens find theirs!" Schaub writes.
