Kids Describe Their Dream Job To An Illustrator — And Their Answers Are So Creative And Pure

"I want to be a Pokémon trainer and catch potatoes."

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Chances are it was far from what you're actually doing today, but the answers you had then say a lot about who you were.

In a sweet video posted by YouTube channel HiHo Kids, kids sat with illustrator Koji Minami and were asked to describe what they wanted to be when they grew up to him. Minami then worked with each child to bring their dream jobs to life on paper.

The exercise gave them the opportunity to flex their creativity and imagine what it would be like once they become adults in the workforce. Their responses are hilarious, creative, and pure. They bring us back to a time when we didn't worry so much about stress management or competitive pay.

From wanting to be Pokémon trainer who catches potatoes to a fairy would doubles as a nurse, the sky's the limit for these boys and girls.

You can check out the video below.

The video is part of an ongoing series from Cut where kids sit down with an illustrator to describe everything from God, to their parents, to what they think love is. It gives them the opportunity to contemplate complex concepts or recall their favorite things about their loved ones in a way that encourages learning and creativity.
