Fans Are Loving This Actor’s Response To Twitter Trolls Who Told Him To Stop Wearing Dresses

"Just go try one on yourself."

When Love, Simon was released in movie theaters in March 2018, it was celebrated for being the first gay teenage romance to be released by a major studio. The film — which is based on the book Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda fostered a lot of discussions, including why straight is automatically the default and about LGBTQ+ representation in film.

Love, Simon's cast has also helped further the discussion, including star Keiynan Lonsdale. The actor, who played Bram in the movie, came out as bisexual in May 2017. In doing so, he highlighted a point about living your true authentic self without necessarily having to announce your sexual orientation to the world.

Lonsdale began the post by stating, "I like to change my hair, I like to take risks with how I dress, I like girls, & I like guys (yes), I like growing, I like learning, I like who I am and I really like who I'm becoming."

These are aspects he seems to have embraced because he can be seen on red carpets and social media trying new clothing styles, hair colors, and grooming looks.

Unfortunately, there are some trolls who criticize Lonsdale for wearing dresses. Rather than ignoring them, he decided to share his reasons for wearing them, emphasizing what fashion and self-expression are about.

His response was met with much praise and support from other Twitter users:

Lonsdale isn't the first notable male star to wear dresses as a fashion statement. Jaden Smith has rocked the garments in multiple fashion spreads. Additionally, Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green and actress Megan Fox have spoken out about letting their son wear dresses, with Fox saying of the haters, "To them I say, 'I don't care.'
