This Woman’s Composition Is Breaking A 103-Year-Old Streak At New York’s Prestigious Opera House

Some records need to be broken.

It might be impossible to believe, but it's been 103 years since an opera composed by a woman was performed at New York City's Metropolitan Opera.

Seriously.

But thankfully, that streak is coming to an end thanks to Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho's L'amour de Loin, which will be showcased for eight performances at the legendary venue.
