Julia Roberts's Beauty Advice Requires Zero Products

Roberts was recently named People's 2017 World's Most Beautiful Woman.

We've been told various products help make us look and feel more beautiful: mascara for the eyes, highlighter for the cheekbones, lipstick for our lips, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

So, naturally, when People magazine named Julia Roberts the 2017 World's Most Beautiful Woman for the fifth time, people everywhere wanted to know her beauty secrets.

During a recent interview on The Ellen Show, Ellen DeGeneres asked Roberts to share some of those secrets, but her answer, surprisingly, had nothing to do with products or quick-fixes or fads at all — it was all about being a good person.

"It's being around nice people that make you feel good," she says. "I have really incredible reinforcement from my family, my kids are very loving and I think they get that from their dad, to speak their love out loud. I think that's really important: to be out loud, and kind, as much as you can. I think that's what makes people seem attractive or beautiful, or whatever word you want to use.".

Hopefully, Roberts's message will encourage us to stop relying so much on those external things we're told can make us beautiful, and to look within instead.
