Jennifer Lawrence Kept Up Her Heartfelt Holiday Tradition At A Louisville Children's Hospital

The actress visits every year.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence spent her Christmas Eve giving back to her hometown of Louisville, Ky. The Oscar winner paid a visit to Norton Children's Hospital to spend time with the patients and staff. According to a local newspaper, Lawrence has been making surprise holiday visits to the hospital since 2013.

The actress posed for plenty of photos, which have been shared on social media in the days since, with many praising the kind gesture. One staff member said of Lawrence on Facebook after the visit, "She is every bit of amazing as everyone says she is. She is so sweet, funny, and flawless as all get out."

Norton (formerly Kosair) holds a special place in Lawrence's heart. Earlier this year, she donated $2 million to establish the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, featuring "private rooms dedicated to children recovering from heart procedures, open heart surgery including heart transplant, heart failure and other conditions requiring intensive care," as well as beds for their families, and additional professionals focused on cardiac care.

"My family and I have met so many wonderful children on our visits to the hospital. Their strength and courage is inspiring," Lawrence said at the time of the donation, according to the Courier-Journal.

But her generosity doesn't stop there. Earlier this month, Lawrence's foundation hosted an advance screening of her new film Passengers, with the proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart.

It's always wonderful to see celebrities embodying the giving spirit, during the holiday season as well as year-round. We're glad to see that Lawrence could put a smile on so many people's faces.
