Jennifer Garner's Mother's Day Music Video Perfectly Captures Motherhood's Ups And Downs

"Move over, Childish Gambino."

For this year's Mother's Day episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jennifer Garner joined Ellen DeGeneres as a special co-host. To entertain the audience of first-time expecting moms, Garner dropped a music video that perfectly touches on the ups and downs that come with motherhood.

"Motherhood is a beautiful thing / It feels you heart with joy / And makes you want to sing," Garner, who shares three kids — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel — with Ben Affleck, began singing. While this all sounds like sunshine and rainbows, the next part of the song takes a different turn.

Putting her rap skills to the test, she then listed off a few of the hardships that come with being a mommy, such as: the difficult delivery process, the act of breastfeeding, the lack of sleep, the tiredness that happens all the time, and the changing of those stinky diapers, to name a few.

To finish things off, Garner performed a mic drop before picking up the guitar again to drive home the point that, while motherhood is tough, it's totally worth it.

"Move over, Childish Gambino," DeGeneres concluded. "There's a new music video in town."

Also in the episode, Garner talks about how she got through her pregnancies — nauseous during the first, listened to Yo-Yo Ma during the second, and binged Happy Meals during the third — before offering up some honest advice for the moms-to-be.
