In A Heartwarming Moment, Jay-Z Pauses His Concert To Hug A Fan Who Beat Cancer Twice

"You beat cancer twice, you can do anything."

Jay-Z has been pausing quite a few concerts on his 4:44 tour recently, and the reasons why have fans cheering. Last month, he shared an empowering message with a young girl in the audience. Not long after that, he took a moment to address the subject of national anthem protests.

According to E! News, during this past Saturday's concert at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., Jay took a moment to recognize an inspiring fan in the audience who beat cancer twice. The woman, named Christina Cruz, was holding a sign which read, "I Beat Cancer 2X 2 C U! I LOVE U!!! SELFIE OR HUG?"

"You beat cancer twice I gotta give you at least a hug," the rapper reportedly said, inviting her on stage.

The crowd applauded the heartwarming moment, after which Jay told Cruz, "You just know, you beat cancer twice, you can do anything. You remember, in those dark times, you just remember to smile. Always smile."

Cruz took to her Instagram account (now private) after the concert to react to the exciting moment. "I can't believe he pulled me on stage and I got to hug him not once but twice!!! Truly a dream come true!! Thank you Jay-Z!!!!" she reportedly wrote, according to E! News.

We never tire of watching artists put their amazing fans in the spotlight — whether it's Bruce Springsteen inviting an Australian teen on stage to duet with him on the guitar, or Gwen Stefani speaking out against bullying by celebrating a young boy affected by it.

"Meeting Jay-Z was a dream come true," Cruz told BBC News. "Even better than I could have imagined."
