Jameela Jamil turned down a role and offered a pretty compelling reason for her decision.
The British actress and model, who was born partially deaf but whose hearing has since improved, was offered a role to play a deaf woman. And she declined.
"I said it wouldn't be appropriate for me to take that role and they should find a brilliant deaf woman to play that role," she said. I thin you have to take those choices and not be too greedy and make space rather than take space. I don't want to be part of erasure."
