This Girl Wrote A Powerful Anthem For Young Women Based On Hillary Clinton's Concession Speech

The candidate called it "inspiring."

Millions of people were moved by 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's empowering message to young women during her concession speech last November. A quote from the speech, which was shared on her official Twitter account, became the most shared political tweet and most shared U.S. tweet of the year.

"To all the little girls who are watching this," she said, "never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams."

Isolde Fair, a young student at SOL-LA Music Academy in Santa Monica, Calif., was assigned by her teacher in an all-girls music theory class to write a song based on this section of Clinton's speech. What she came up with is a powerful anthem for young women everywhere.

The beautiful song, titled "To All the Little Girls," caught the attention of Clinton herself, who shared the music video on Twitter Wednesday, calling it "inspiring" and telling Isolde and her classmates, "I'm with YOU."

The video, which was uploaded on Inauguration Day last month, features Isolde singing at the piano while her fellow students accompany her on strings and backup vocals. The clip includes shots of several girls holding signs that read messages such as "I want to be the change" and "I want everyone to have an education."

"The message is that all girls (and women) should never doubt that they are valuable and powerful and can have their dreams come true," Isolde wrote in the video's description.
