Adorable Iowan Women Finally Tie The Knot After 72 Years

Married, at last.

It took 72 years, but Vivian Boyack and Alice "Nonie" Dubes are finally married.

The lesbian couple, Boyack, 91, and Dubes, 90, met in Iowa while growing up, the Associated Press reports and have traveled the world. And on Saturday morning, they sat hand-in-hand during a ceremony that made them spouses at last.

"This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago," the Rev. Linda Hunsaker told the GC Times.

The two tied the knot over four year after Iowa officially allowed gay marriage in 2009 — a new chapter the women say it is never too late for.

We're sure this chapter will be well worth the wait.
