13 Sweet Tweets That Show How Amazing It Is When Girls Support Other Girls

"I was crying on the subway and a woman sitting next to me comforted me for 20 mins and truly made me feel better."

Strangers helping strangers, regardless of gender, is a beautiful thing. But with all the "mean girl" narratives out there, often fueled by jealousy or competitiveness, it's even better when we hear about women and girls lifting up other women and girls instead of tearing them down.

Recently, 18-year-old Anyssa Richardson sparked a discussion about this with a simple tweet. Richardson, who goes by @ghostgrl on Twitter, shared that she asked someone where she got her nails done and the woman responded by researching the address and even showing Richardson a photo of the exterior of the salon.

It may seem like no big deal to some, but for Richardson, it was surprising. Many people wouldn't stop what they're doing to help a stranger, much less go through the extra effort to pull up directions and photos.

"THATS [sic] girls supporting girls," Richardson wrote in the tweet.

While some criticized Richardson's example as "just someone answering a question," others pointed out that, in their own experience, people often refrain from giving up the information either because they don't want the other woman to have the same things as them or are too lazy to go through the extra effort to find out the answer

Either way, it's clear Richardson appreciated this woman's gesture and her tweet prompted many others to share their own experiences with girls supporting girls. From helping to secure jobs, to making sure they get home safe, to offering up a lipstick they love, there's lots of women out there who are more than willing to go the extra mile to help a fellow female in need.
