We Could All Learn Something From The Rock's Razzie Acceptance Speech

"I humbly and graciously accept my Razzie."

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had a positive attitude about his movie Baywatch winning a Razzie this weekend. The annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which are essentially the opposite of the Oscars, honor the so-called "worst" movies of the year. This year marked the 38th annual ceremony.

While Johnson didn't go as far as to show up to the event, he was a good enough sport to post a video message accepting the award and having a laugh about it. He also pointed out that the category in which the movie won is a new one, and probably the best option — Rotten Tomatoes' "So Bad You Loved It" award.

"Look, we made Baywatch with the best of intentions," Johnson shared in the video. "It didn't work out like that, but I humbly and graciously accept my Razzie. And I thank you critics, thank you fans."

The moment is a great reminder for all of us that, while you can't please everybody, you shouldn't let that stop you from doing what you love and feeling proud of it. (Not to mention that sometimes, it's nice to just have a good laugh at yourself.)

As Johnson wrote in the caption of his video, "Win some, lose some, but hey... that's the way love goes."

Baywatch may not have been a hit with the critics, but we're glad to see that Johnson isn't ashamed of his work on the film. As we saw in 2016 while the project was filming, the actor got to hang out on set with a brave young fan battling cancer. We'd say that's more than enough to make the experience worthwhile.
