The Moment This 9-Year-Old Pup Finally Takes His First Swim Might Inspire You To Conquer A Fear, Too

"This is HUGE!"

No one said conquering our fears was easy, but usually, it's worth it. And in a recent video from the Lucky Puppy Daycare Centre in Michigan, U.S., one pup's proving we can do anything we set our minds to.

According to the daycare, Buddy the Golden Retriever has always loved going in the pool, but was afraid to swim. But the nearly 9-year-old pup took his first swim earlier this month and picked up a toy along the way.

In the video, Buddy nervously paces at the end of the pool step while other dogs swim around him. With the help of an assistant, Kristina, Buddy finally jumps in — and we can't help but cheer him on.

"This is HUGE!," Lucky Puppy captions on the video. "He is actually swimming now! He swam again today with a little encouragement."

Naturally, the video has resonated with animal-lovers, reaching almost 30 thousand views in just a few days.

"My eyes just welled up!" one viewer comments. "How sweet is he for trying?"
