Paralyzed Football Player Tweets Out Inspiring Video Showing Him Taking Steps

Absoultely beautiful.

"I'm on the way!!" Devon Gales captioned his a tweet.

This particular tweet, though, spoke more than just a few words, because it was accompanied by a video of Gales walking — an incredible feat considering the devastating football injury back in 2015 that would leave him paralyzed from the waist down.

At the time, Gales, a receiver for the Southern University football team, shattered his C6 vertebrae blocking a kickoff return, Fox Sports reports. It would take 20 screws and two rods to stabilize his spine.

"Devon was determined to return to his old life and get back on the field. He told his college coach to hold a spot on the team for him. Doctors optimistically gave him a 50-50 chance of regaining feeling in his legs, but all he heard was 'chance.' "

And on May 25, through rehabilitation and, of course, struggles, Gales sent out that particular tweet, which shows him taking some steps with help.

Since posting, Gales' tweet has been liked more than 8,000 times, with floods of positive comments pouring in.

Gales also shared this video to Instagram, with the caption: "God is good, we are powerful beyond measures."

We wish you all the best, Devon!
