David Cassidy's Daughter Shares The Lesson She Took Away From Her Father's Last Words

"This will be a daily reminder for me."

David Cassidy, star of The Partridge Family and 1970s teen idol, passed away last Tuesday at age 67. He leaves behind two children, Beau and Katie Cassidy. On Friday, Katie shared her father's last words before his death, and the lesson she took away from them.

Katie, an actress who has starred on such television series as Gossip Girl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow, started her Twitter post by thanking fans for their condolences. "Words cant express the solace our family's received from all the love & support during this trying time," she wrote.

She went on to reveal that her father's final words were "So much wasted time." As sad as that statement is, Katie shared the lesson she took away from it to live life to the fullest and treasure time with loved ones — something everyone can benefit from.

"This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute," she wrote, before once again thanking those who have shown support.

Her comments are similar to those made by her father to People earlier this year when he revealed he was battling dementia and had decided to stop touring. "I want to focus on what I am, who I am and how I've been without any distractions," he said at the time. "I want to love. I want to enjoy life."

Cassidy's son Beau, a singer and actor, also responded to his father's death on social media, posting an old photo of the two of them to Instagram and writing, "I'll always, always love you."
